It’s humbling and astonishing that this blog will reach 200,000 page views this weekend. I must thank my super attentive readers who have filled in all of my pop culture gaps, sent in blog tips that I have shamelessly re-used, and otherwise encouraged this strange endeavor. Diary, document, adventure, and communication, Tokyo Moe has become much more than I expected.
Is there more of something that you’d like to see in the future?
I just learned today that each Donki carries different merchandise. The one near Kabukicho seems heavily into fetishes. I love the many female fetish outfits: school girl (many uniform types), ball gown, maid, nurse, police woman. (For those outside Japan, Donki is the abbreviation for Don Quixote, a chain of low priced merchandise packed so densely it’s hard not to imagine the imminent fire hazard of even a short visit). It’s like the poor man’s Isetan or Takashimaya for teens.
The store makes you feel filthy for just looking. And below, a men’s thong with an extremely inappropriate name that does not match the visual. WTF?
OMG. This video contains the audio record of a 911 call *from* a cop who confiscated pot, made brownies, and then thinks he OD’d. Some choice quotes include, “I think we’re dead, I really do,” and “Time is going by really, really, really slow.”
The video also includes super snarky comments from the poster, and identifies the cop as Officer Edward Sanchez, Dearborn Michigan.
