disgrace

Debauched princeling of China. Aren’t there more photos?! Please!

Any more delicious stories about Bo Guagua, the hard-partying son of the now disgraced Communist Party boss in China? It seems his family gathered US$160 million in the past ten years of political power. And the son has been partying hard, from England’s top prep schools and universities, to Harvard. Where are Japan’s messy princelings? In the US, are the Bush kids the equivalent of Guagua?

Ebizo, disgraced kabuki star, is back selling posh men’s wear in Yurakucho

Well, hello, Ebizu! I thought the kabuki star was disgraced, and then I find him giving me this come-hither look outside the new(ish) palce of posh menswear, Hankyu Men in Yurakucho. Decent coffee downstairs at the Monocle Cafe brought me there twice in one week.

Can someone explain to me how celebrity rehabilitation works in Japan? Was he forgiven because alcohol was involved? Or has he seduced a defenseless nation into taking him back?

Ebizo selling bottled tea at vending machine in Ni-chome

Disgraced and barely repentant kabuki actor Ebizo still has some promotional activities. I found him in Ni-chome selling bottled tea at a vending machine. I love how Japanese consumer products still use famous actors and celebrities in Japanese costume in wood houses or by bamboo forests. Very nostalgic and sexy!
