Why would Arnold Schwarzenegger and the lion-like Maria Shriver (Kennedy) divorce after 20 years of marriage, and just months after his 8 years as governor of California? They seemed the perfect attention-starved power couple: he had money and an office, she had the name and media savvy. Isn’t that enough?

Christophe provides the Inseminator title and LA Times story exposing the Inseminator’s recently acknowledged ten year old child with a 20 year veteran of the household staff.

As the Japanese say, that’s “no0 guudo” (ノー・グウッド).

I wonder if those French just made this up to distract from the high profile Socialist politician IMF chief arrested for rape in his $3,000 per night suite. I am ready for all female political corps! More cougars, less violence, no?!

There’s a name for hot young dads: ikumen

This new word イクメン combine the slang ikemen, which means attractive man, with iku, which means child-raising. It is one of the many, many sub-categories of men I find very hot in Tokyo. Watching men whose main accessories are their toddlers inspires admiration and lust.

And, like every trend in Japan, it’s been fully commercialized, including a special section of Takashimaya department store’s website! For more 2010 new words, check out this Japan Times article.

Pokemon butt at beer vendor in Tokyo Pride Parade

I had a fantastic time at the Tokyo Pride Parade on Saturday. Despite the August heat and humidity, the atmosphere, costumes, and Okinawan music were joyous. The hubb and two good friends joined me and about 10,000 people in Yoyogi and then marching through Shibuya and Meiji Jingu Mae.

I don’t have time to sort through all the photos (and several videos), but I want to post my favorite photo today. There were about eight middle-aged Pokemon wearing furry but revealing outfits.

I hope that these adult Pokemon prompted some awkward child-parent questions during the parade! Here they are lined up for canned beer.

If you’re in Tokyo, you can check out the “gay matsuri” festival from 4 pm to 7 pm on Sunday in Ni-chome. It’s a street fair organized by the bar owners, with promises of a portable shrine carried by lesbians, music and performances.
