I found this incredible treat at Books Inc bookstore in the Castro. Big US gay names, book designer Chip Kidd and author Edmund White, introduce in English the manga of Gengoroh Tagame (田亀 源五郎), who creates cinematographic stories in which muscular and hairy authority figures are subjected to rough sex with lots of sweat and other fluids.
If it’s good enough for Chip Kidd, you might also enjoy it. I love how my copy prominently announced “printed in Canada” even though the publisher is based in Brooklyn, NY. Is this book too hot for Amerika?!

Your blog isn’t trashy, it’s a treasure!! Every post has something interesting and/or sexy in it. I was also touched to see your photos from what looked like a very loving memorial for Koh Masaki. It’s encouraging to see he was remembered and celebrated by so many people!
Anne and I are almost completely sold out of the towel, sadly. I think we have a handful more, so I’m not sure if we’ll restock the MASSIVE store, or sell them in person at conventions. But one thing is certain: we want to put out a new towel next summer! Stay tuned 🙂
Yes, I took some photos at Koh-sama’s memorial service. It’s a huge loss for the porn industry and for gay visibility. His Twitter account and public persona made him one of Japan’s most out gay men, a first for a porn star. Also, he had a Chinese boyfriend, which is also rare and super cool. Poor Koh-sama left too soon. RIP.

Thanks! We love bringing this pervy artwork full of crucial representations to a broader audience. For me, it was such an important aesthetic discovery when I was a young gay boy coming of age. I assumed someone would start publishing it here, but a decade went by and no one had. It brings my pleasure to share it with more and more people!
As far as reading Japanese, I’m still a beginner (but like, an intermediate beginner?). Anne is a wiz, and she helps me a lot. I’m currently reading a bi-lingual Doraemon manga for extra practice ^_^
