RIP, Farrah Fawcett

RIP, Farrah Fawcett

One of the 1970s’ brightest lights is no longer with us. This image on a small throw pillow is one of the clearest memories I have of my adolescent bedroom. The husband had the same image on a poster on his wall in Tokyo. The globe was momentarily united by this one piece bathing suit, the amazing mane which still seems to inspire Japanese men’s hair, and that blinding smile. Her death is another reminder of the importance of the HPV vaccine.

  1. I just found out recently through a doctor that men are the main carriers of HPV virus and there are currently no tests in existence that test men for the virus. The doctor said it’s because men don’t die from it so they don’t care…. that just completely sucks. There’s no money in the research, but it’s killing our women.

  2. I’m guilty too…I have been so focused on Mike of late I have totally overlooked Farrah…RIP. Though I only remember her as the dumb blond angel (I was always a Jackie Smith guy myself)and the wife of the six million dollar barely alive, we can rebuild him we have the technology we can make him a better stronger faster man Lee Majors. (-: Now he was cool…

  3. Ahh, the 1970s. An Angel for everyone, and the first cyborg hero. Looking back, I wonder how a 12 year old gay boy could be so fascinated by that blonde mane and blinding smile. Maybe it somehow explains my more 00’s interest in Kimutaku and Japanese men’s hair?
