
Here’s an overview of the bizen pottery I made in Numazu with the in-law senseis. You can see the rectangular plates, small round plates, and various flower vases and lattices.
This was my own design, inspired by fruit pie lattices. It’s meant to be a special occasion flower vase.

Below is the vase that my mother-in-law teacher says has the best color. It’s charmingly metallic.

And finally, this vase below has a black burnt effect that the senseis say is particularly prized. Effects and colors are largely unpredictable, giving bizen the characteristic of surprises and unintended outcomes.
